Some months ago, Alessandra Antonaci and Filippo Chiarello, members of the Encore project, invited me to talk about my research in multimodal AI learning analytics. The result of this discussion is in the podcast below.

To what extent is ChatGPT useful in education?
In my responsible AI class, my students have to design an AI tool or functionality for education. This year, 3 out of 5 groups decided to look into LLMs such as ChatGPT.
So I discussed with them to what extent ChatGPT can be helpful in education. Three takeaways:
Making AI More Human
Although my field of study is computer science and artificial intelligence, I am conducting my doctoral studies in a (soon to become) Faculty of Education while my field of expertise is Multimodal Learning Analytics. In this field, the Human component has always been of highest relevance. In the prototypes we developed it is typically a human that uses the developed systems, as well as the human (e.g. teacher or learner) is the subject of investigation.
